The world's first openly gay prime minister
The world's first openly gay prime minister is woman named Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir. She was born on the 4th of October in the year 1942 and the prime minister to Iceland. She was married to Þorvaldur Steinar Jóhannesson in 1970 and the coupled had two sons. She divorced in 1987 and joined in a civil union with life partner Jónína Leósdóttir. Jonina was born in 1954 , she is an author an playwright . In 2010 when same sex marriage was legalised in Iceland Johanna and Jonina changed their civil union into a marriage and thus becoming the first same sex married couples in Iceland.
